Privacy

This page explains what BoxManager stores about you and why. It also explains what you can ask us to do with it. If anything here is unclear, contact us.

What we store

  • Your account. Your username, e-mail address, full name, country and password. The password is stored as a one-way hash, so nobody can read it, us included. If you set a security question, we store that and its answer.
  • Your game. Your boxers, cards, events, fights, credits, titles, rankings and market trades.
  • What you write. Chat messages, forum posts and private messages, so other players can read them and staff can moderate them.
  • Security records. The IP address and time of logins, failed logins and password reset requests. We use these to stop people guessing passwords and to spot abuse.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Login session. Keeps you logged in while you play. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Keep me logged in. Only if you tick that box. It keeps you logged in between visits and is removed when you log out.
  • Cookie notice. Remembers that you have seen the notice about cookies.
  • Your settings. Your choice of light or dark mode and whether the fight bar is folded are kept only in your browser.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Other services our pages use

Some pages load files from other companies, which can see your IP address when your browser fetches them.

  • Google for fonts, the jQuery library, the charts and reCAPTCHA, which stops automated sign-ups on the sign-up page.
  • Twitter for the feed on the updates page.
  • PayPal when you buy credits in the store. Payment details go to PayPal and never reach us.

Who sees your data

We do not sell or share your data. Other players can see your username, country, boxers, rankings and anything you post in public. Staff can see your account to help you and to moderate the game.

How long we keep it

We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Fight commentary is deleted after a day.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete your account. You can change your name, e-mail address, country and e-mail settings yourself on your account page. To ask for anything else, contact us.

You must be at least 13 to play. See the terms on the About page for the rules of the game.
